CALL TO ARTISTS--"A Passion for Acadia"

posted Jan 5, 2016, 11:33 AM by BHML Librarian

The Bass Harbor Memorial Library's call for artists for the March 2016 History Project exhibit is open! This year’s theme, “A Passion for Acadia,” celebrates the centennial of Acadia National Park. What does Acadia mean to you? Does Acadia call to mind the person who first showed you the beauty of the place? Is Acadia an idea or concept -- an inner landscape -- which gives you sustenance or inspiration? Is the meaning embodied by a singular moment you experienced within the Park? Whether you find meaning in the place or the spirit of Acadia, we welcome your personal expression and interpretation of this shared treasure.

Participants need not be professional artists -- all are welcome -- and all types of media and crafts are encouraged. As space is limited, one piece per artist may be exhibited. You may exhibit at more than one participating library.

To register for the Bass Harbor Memorial Library Library Exhibit, please contact Clara Baker or Amanda Crafts, 207-244-3798, librarian@bassharborlibrary.com.
