The Bass Harbor Memorial Library will show the film Deep Waters on Friday, February 26, at 6:30 p.m.  The public is invited to this Acadia Centennial event.
The Deep Waters movie is based on Ruth Moore's 2nd novel, Spoonhandle which is one of this year's picks for "One Park, One Read". This movie was filmed on Vinal Haven in 1947 and stars Dana Andrews, Jean Peters, Anne Revere, Cesar Romero, Dean Stockwell and Ed Begley.

On Friday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m., the Bass Harbor Memorial Library will be showing Hollywood Comes to Vinal Haven, The Making of Deep Waters, a film produced by the Vinal Haven Historical Society.  This 2007 film includes reminiscences by Vinal Haven residents who remember the making of this film on their island.
