Ruth Moore Days - July 19-24

Join the BassRuth Moore Harbor Memorial Library in celebrating RUTH MOORE DAYS from
 July 19 through July 24.


On Thursday, July 19 at 7pm MDI reads Moore! Author Sandford Phippen will lead a discussion of The Walk Down Main Street, Moore’s eighth novel. Copies of The Walk Down Main Street are available for purchase ($10) at the Bass Harbor Memorial Library.

Sunday, July 22 at 7pm historian William Baker will discuss the role of basketball in small town America and on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island in particular as it is reflected in The Walk Down Main Street.

Tuesday, July 24 at 7pm historian Judith Goldstein will discuss the history of anti-Semitism on Mount Desert Island and shed light on Moore’s portrayal of prejudice in The Walk Down Main Street.

Oil paintings by Ruth Moore and her partner, writer Eleanor Mayo, are on display at The Bass Harbor Memorial Library during the month of July.
